Alyse, pictured here with the ever elusive  Wayz Goose at the 2015 Hamilton Woodtype Museum Wayzgoose. And yes, that is a giant wall of woodtype.

Oh, Hello.

My name is Alyse Benenson and I am a Chicago based letterpress printer. I am Living Spaces Press. I would love to make beautiful things out of paper for you, using design and, of course, letterpress. Let's have a chat and see what we come up with!

At Living Spaces Press we know that it's the spaces between things that really make the design. We will work closely with you to develop your creative vision. If you're a fan of the "old school," vintage wood and lead type are what you're looking for. If the latest tech is more your style, everything can be designed on the computer (which creates endless possibilities). The printing is always done by hand with love. Either way, you're free to customize to your hearts' content. The world is your oyster

Alyse graduated in 2011 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA in Graphic Design and a BA in Visual and Critical Studies. Her work has been published in "For The Love of Letterpress" and she has received numerous awards and acclaim for her unique visual perspective. She teaches letterpress classes at Lill Street Art Center to anyone willing to listen to her geeking out super hard over type. She also works at Steracle Press with Stacey Stern printing custom letterpress wedding invitations and other paper goodies.
